We are Debbie and Bill Gunnell. We grew up in Morristown, Tenn. and South Knoxville, Tenn., respectively. We have spent the last 32 years living and working in the Memphis area.
Our parents are no longer in this area, and we had absolutely no plans on moving back to the area. Actually I was thinking South Carolina. Anyway, we came back for Bill’s 40th high school reunion and ran across Rarity Ridge. A.J. Howland and Ed Shreve showed us around, and it was love at first sight. We went back to Memphis, and three days later Bill was back and bought our property in August 2008.
Not planning on retiring for quite a few years, we would come up periodically over the next six to eight months, and a peace came over us that we had never experienced. The next thing we knew we were building our dream retirement home, retired and on January 21, 2010 moved to Rarity Ridge. Here, we were welcomed with open arms by not only Rita and Ed that run Rarity, but by the wonderful people that already live here. We are blessed to live here. |
